Wyse Linux V6.3 is a powerful Linux-based operating system
optimized for thin computing. It is ideal for organizations who
want to run server-based Microsoft Windows applications,
local Linux applications or distributed X Window applications.
Wyse Linux 6.3 comes with Firefox 1.0.7 web browser to give
you a more secure Internet experience. And it offers terminal
emulation to give you the ability to run legacy applications.
Our free-seating capabilities allow people to log in to different
thin computers without losing their desktop configuration. And
Wyse designed our Linux to be modular, allowing you to add-on
or remove features as necessary to improve your performance
and cost advantages. It also offers a secure read-only file
system that provides the highest protection against software
corruption and virus attacks. The file system is compressed to
maximize space for additional software applications.
New with Wyse Linux 6.3 are improved wireless support
(including 802.11a/g/b) and authentication; better smart-card
support and authentication; and enhanced localization, with
double-byte Asian language support.
Wyse Linux 6.3 requires a minimum of 64MB of flash memory
and 128MB of RAM on any thin device. It runs it on the
Wyse S50, Wyse V50 and Wyse 5150 thin clients.
